TRIATHLON SWIMMING PROGRAM

PHASE 1 – NADARBEM TRIATHLON COURSE

Dedicating your time and effort to training inefficient movements is a waste of your time.

That’s why our Triathlon preparation program starts with this course designed to teach you how to swim with minimum effort and maximum efficiency. You’ll learn the technique on a step-by-step basis for performing a relaxed and efficient stroke.

You will learn how to control and master your body so that you don’t sink. You will also understand what you need to do to minimize drag and how to glide smoothly.

HOW IT WORKS

We’ll start by teaching how to master your body position in the water and knowing what to do to improve your swimming technique and efficiency. You’ll learn how to balance on your side for minimum drag resistance, how to rotate your body for maximum propulsion and how to perform a great underwater catch.

LEARN ON A 1-ON-1 PRIVATE ENVIRONMENT

Considering how much information you’re getting at this point of the program, and how important it is for your success, we need to make sure you do it right and that’s why all of PHASE 1 is done in 1-ON-1 COACHING.

PHASE 2 – TECHNIQUE TRAINING

1 stroke performed well is not the same as 1500 strokes performed well

In the previous phase of our program you have learned how to be an efficient swimmer and how to perform one or a couple strokes with top efficiency. On this phase you will train to repeat these strokes without failure, deviations or loss of efficiency.

Even though the previous phase was crucial and necessary for the program’s success, its goal was to teach you how to do ONE stroke efficiently. It didn’t prepare or train you to repeat that motion consistently.

Throughout the swimming leg of an IronMan 703 event (Half) you could do as many as 1500 strokes. If by the end of the first 100 strokes you’re already not doing the same stroke technique and efficiency as the first one, then the benefits of knowing how to swim efficiently vanish.

Its of the utmost importance to practice, and know how to do it, in order to repeat the same motion in a controlled and consistent manner.

HOW IT WORKS

On a weekly basis you will have access to a training plan designed to enable you to master and consolidate the swimming you developed in phase 1 of this program. Your level of efficiency and expertise will grow steadily and so the number of repetitions and whole workout level will follow along.

Hand in hand with these improvements and evolution, we’ll start to work on speed and tempo

The weekly in-person workout is a great opportunity to perform corrections and fine adjustments to your progress.

In addition to the training plan, you will have the opportunity to join our training group. Once very week you will do a session with a small training group, who are focused in preparing their triathlon events at the same level of excellence as you.

This in-person workout allows us to check your evolution and manage your training on a weekly basis, as well as give you the opportunity to clear any doubts. This model of closely checking progress and constantly adapting your training let’s us have a dynamic approach to training and your individual needs.

Total duration of this Phase 2 may vary by person, event and overall goals. However, on average preparing an IronMan 70.3 (Half) can take as a minimum 3 months and maximum 6 months.
